The Life and Work of Miriam Markel-Mosessohn

Miriam Markel Mosessohn was an educated woman in the second half of the 19th century. A writer, poet and translator, she was one of the most prominent Jewish women of her time. Her correspondence with her contemporaries Abraham Mapu and Yehuda Leib Gordon, is a unique example of writing in beautiful Hebrew, interwoven with Biblical and Rabbinical references.
